My Sister Lisa~the Martha Stewart of wedding cakes!

This is the wedding cake my sister Lisa made for her friends daughter's wedding. I thought she did an AWESOME job on it! I was so impressed I wanted to share it on my blog. She is so talented, not only does she bake and decorate cakes, her house looks like a Martha Stewart catalog~especially at Christmas when she hosts our family get togethers. Including those delicious home-made candies in every room. With whatever she does, she always makes it so special! She's amazing! She's an awesome school teacher, Mom, wife, friend, etc.etc. I love you Lisa! and can't wait for you to teach me how to do this!

"Cruisin the Caribbean"

In April I went on the "Chick Cruise 2009" to the Grand Caymans Islands with 14 "chicks"~2 from GA and 12 from Phoenix. Britt (our cruise director) made us tshirt logos with all the chicks on a ship--she came up with the saying--so fitting and true!!and put all us chicks on the ship and made it just so cute! and then had them printed on tshirts and we all wore them the 1st day of the cruise. Believe me~the "Chicks" were well known on that ship!! We had such a blast! It was just amazing...so much fun, lots of laughing, adventure, making new friends, and being uplifted by these wonderful women. I don't think I've ever laughed so much in my life! We went to Karoeke, shows each night, dancing the night away several nights, went to the "Sizzle Party" on deck, layed out by the pool, played some ping pong, shopping, shared wonderful food together at dinner, midnight ice cream, I got to play "hairdresser", kayaked in Key West, swam with the StingRays in the Caymans and much much more! Thanks Britt for inviting me and organizing our trip, etc.etc.etc.~I can't wait til next year! Here are a few of the pictures that I scrapbooked and put in a slide show(we took over 1000).... I can't get my slideshow to post so I'm posting all the pages~it's going to be a very long post...15 pages! and I hope they end up in order:)

Belated Mother's Day Dinner

Randy, Mom, me(in my favorite AK Puffin apron)and Dad
We had a belated Mother's Day Dinner for my Mom, not everyone was able to be in town~we missed you! We weren't able to have it on Mother's day due to my Mom still recuperating from open heart surgery, so we had it late. Mom is doing much better and was able to come over long enough to eat dinner and open presents. We love you Mom and are so thankful for you!!

An Awesome House....we now call Home!

As most of you know we have moved back to my hometown in middle GA this past year. It's been an interesting year and we have finally gotten a house here. We still have our Auburn house (which is up for sale/or rent if you know of someone that wants it). We now have 6 acres, a pond, an inground pool, an arbor, lots of trees and plenty of room for the boys (our dogs Champ and Louie) to run free, and for the other boys to ride motorcycles, shoot guns, romp in the woods, fish, play soccer & plenty of country living! And I have 3300 sq.ft. inside with large rooms, lots of closets, pantries, basement, plenty of storage space and a walk-in attic...best of all I now have a sewing/craft room and office and no reason not to be organized! It is an older home and we've started making upgrades, we still have much more to do, but we are already loving it and feel right at home!

Scott's new office(has carpet, electricity&central heat/air~it's 2 huge rooms, the other side has concrete flooring and Jake uses it for his motorcycle, sports equipment, and workout bench/weights.
My Arbor that I kept calling a Gazebo until Morgan corrected me...it has benches that lines the whole inside and a built in grill, fans and lights. It's very peaceful and cool~we just need to do some yard work around it.
The pool and pond~the view from our back porch, bedroom, den & kitchen...our little piece of country paradise!

The Making of a Soccer Goal

This is the final outcome of Scott and Jacob building their own official size soccer goal from scratch.  They did an awesome job on it! It turned out GREAT! Now Jake can play soccer all day long and practice his goals....he only wishes he had a team that lived with us:)  But he does invite friends over to play! Scott got the instructions off the internet and they went to our local hardware store and bought PVC pipe and cut to exact measurements and reinforced parts of it with aluminum pipes. They had bought netting to make a net, but that turned into a much bigger project than anticpated, so a net was ordered and it worked great!  Jacob has a flat yard and plenty of space for a soccer game! He is a  lucky guy to have a Dad care enough to build a soccer goal with him:)

Fordham Reunion

Me and Granny Thompson
My Granny Thompson is the only living member of Granny Fordham's 17 children (16 girls and 1 boy...can you imagine??). We went to the reunion a few weeks ago and it was great to see all of my cousins and extended family. I didn't take many pictures because I was too busy visiting (you know the social butterfly that I am!! lol). But I do have a few pics, thanks Scott for helping me out:) I didn't get any of the kids as they were playing games and went down by the lake.
Dad welcoming everyone there and

Robins Air Force Base Air Show

Jake and U2 Pilot

Scott took Jacob to the Robins Air Force Base Air Show. Jake wants to be a Fighter Pilot in the Air Force when he grows up. He plans on attending the Aerospace Camp again this summer. They had a great time watching the ThunderBirds and other teams fly.

ThunderBirds

Most Valuable Offensive Player

Jacob was on the Middle School Soccer team this year and was awarded "Most Valuable Offensive Player". He played really good this year and scored several goals, ending the year scoring 3 goals (known as a Hat Trick) in the last game of the season. We are very proud of him!
