NO POSTS in 2010~WHAT???

Yep! looks like it......the ChatterBox was pretty quiet ALL of 2010.....this would lead you to think that not much was going on last year, and for the most part it was pretty mundane with the regular family events, Cherie being in nursing school, Scott working, Morgan in her 2nd year of college with a 4.0 GPA, Jacob playing sports and working on his Eagle Project....even though I said mundane~we are still very proud of our kids and all their hard work and accomplishments!! Little did we all know that on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at approximately 740pm~life as the Echols Family knew it would NEVER be the same!

That Sunday night Scott was headed to Uncle Sonny's in Enterprise, Alabama to visit him....He was not doing well and Scott knew there weren't many days left in his dear beloved uncle's life. On Scott's way just outside of Baxley, GA and about 45 minutes from Dothan, AL he had a major auto accident that left him fighting for his life. I will summarize the next 5 months.....he was first taken to a Dothan Hospital where a major pelvic artery was sealed off to stop the bleeding and then transferred to UAB Hospital in Birmingham. I arrived (with my Dad and my sister Ronda) in dothan just in time to see him put into the ambulance (this was around 130am) and we continued on to Birmingham arriving around 5am. Scott spent the next 2 months in TBICU (trauma/Burns ICU) on the ventilator, then moved to stepdown in TBNU for about 5 weeks, then to the next stepdown in ATCU for another 5-6 weeks, then on to Spain Rehab Center (there at UAB) for almost a month. Now he is back in UAB at TBNU for 2 weeks, still awaiting more surgery so that we can go home. He had several internal injuries and almost every bone in his abdomen broken and both hips and left lower leg. He has suffered nerve damage and resulting wounds due to the pelvic artery that had been sealed off. That is what we are waiting on now to recover from before we are able to go back home to GA. It has been such a long road and he has come so far. His last day at rehab he was able to walk 58ft. with the aide of a walker....doctors and me never thought we would see that day without some major pelvic/hip surgeries in the future~but he and our family has been blessed with many miracles from so many prayers! We are so grateful :):)
